Are your Anytone (868/878/578) radios capable of MARS frequencies?
Since MARS frequencies are outside the amateur band, assuming you are licensed to transmit on MARS frequencies, you will need to purchase a commercial radio. The keypad is locked to comply with FCC Part 90, but channels can be programmed through the CPS software by the license holder. However, all our AnyTone radios can receive on these frequencies. Note: the user is solely responsible for legal use of the radio.
Are your Anytone (868/878/578) radios capable of GMRS/MURS/FRS frequencies?
No. Even though the commercial radios are capable of transmitting on these frequencies, the radio itself must be part 95 certified for this to be legal. However, it is legal to listen on these frequencies, and all our AnyTone radios are all capable of that.
Can I use a commercial radio for amateur use?
Yes. As these radios are capable of transmitting outside the amateur band, the keypad is locked out in order to comply with FCC Part 90, but can still be used in the amateur band by programming channels through the CPS software. Note: the user is solely responsible for legal use of the radio.
Can I use an amateur radio for commercial use?
No. Amateur radios are restricted to the amateur radio bands. However, unlike commercial radios, these radios can be programmed through the front panel and are frequency agile (frequency can be controlled with the knob).
